Tarique attends prayer and Milad Mahfil for brother Koko in London

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s eldest son Tarique Rahman has attended an absentia funeral prayer and Milad Mahfil for his late younger brother Arafat Rahman Koko.
The funeral prayer was held around 3:30pm on Sunday 25 January local time at Altaf Ali Ground in East London.
Apart from Tarique, the prayer was also attended by the expatriate supporters of the BNP and Tower Hamlets Mayor Lutfur Rahman.
After the Namaj-e-Janaza, Tarique also addressed those who attended the prayer.
The youngest son of Khaleda and late president Ziaur Rahman, Arafat Rahman Koko, died of heart failure on Saturday in Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur. He was 45.
His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Malaysia’s National Mosque after Zuhr prayers on Sunday.
Khaleda’s younger brother Shamim Eskander flew to Malaysia Saturday night to bring back Koko’s body. He was present at the funeral along with the BNP chief’s advisor Mosaddek Ali Falu.
BNP activists and Bangladeshi expatriates residing in different areas of Malaysia also took part in the prayers.
Later, on Tuesday, Tarique Rahman attended a special prayer for his late younger brother Arafat Rahman Koko.
The Milad Mahfil was held at the Brick Lane mosque in East London, the day Koko was buried in Dhaka.
Tarique, who has been living in the UK for seven years, had earlier visited the mosque in the East London and it was the first time he went to the Brick Lane mosque.
The BNP senior vice-chairman addressed the people attending the prayer.Among others who also attended the Milad Mahfil included UK BNP President Sayesta Chowdhury Quddus, General Secretary Koysor M Ahmed, UK Shommilito Peshajibi Parishad Convenor President Dr K M A Makik, Senior Joint Convenor Nasrullah Khan Junayed, Memer Secretary Engineer Tariqye Bin Aziz, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s former Assistant Press Secretary Ashique Islam, Barrister Mir Helal, International Relations Affairs Secretary of Jatiotabadi Shechchashebok Dol Parvez Mollik, Jubo Dol UK part Convenor Dewan Moqaddem Chowdhury Niaz, UK Shechchashebok Dol Convenor Nasir Ahmed Shahin, JASAS President M A Salam, International Relations Affairs Secretary of Zia Parishod Engineer Rezaul Karim, Journalist Mahbubur Rahman and others.
