He issued a confessional statement at the Sylhet Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s court on Sunday, investigation officer Sub-Inspector Azim Patwari said.
Nine-year-old Abu Sayeed, a fourth-grader at Shah Meer Government Primary School, was abducted on Mar 11.
The kidnappers demanded Tk 500,000 in ransom from his family. Four days later, the boy’s body was recovered from the house of Constable Ebaidur Rahman.
Police arrested Geda, Rahman, and Abdur Rakib, the latter claiming to be the Ulama League’s Sylhet unit general secretary.
Rahman and Rakib confessed in court on Mar 16.
