Jilu Miah initiates electricity supply in three villages of Nabiganj

An expatriate philanthropist named Jilu Miah has come forward to arrange the supply of electricity in three villages of Nabiganj under Habiganj district in Bangladesh. Those three villages are Gumgumia, Halimpur and Korgaon. Members of the 475 families of these villages are very happy to get the long-awaited connection of electricity supply line.Local school, madrasas and colleges have entered into a new era of advancement after being connected with electricity line. Local people have expressed their joy and gratitude, as their children will be hugely benefitted through the usage of electricity.
An event was organised on Friday last in the village of Gumgumia to celebrate the occasion. Local MP A Munim Chowdhury Babu joined the celebration as the chief guest. Special guests were upazila chairman Md Alamgir Chowdhury and corporation mayor professor Tofajjol Hussain Chowdhury. Jilu Miah received the guests in the event handing them bouquet of flowers. An Iftar mahfil was arranged in Jilu Miah’s residence following the event where more than one hundred local people were invited. Sylhet correspondent of Bangla TV UK Mr Ahmad Selim, who is also a senior reporter of Daily Sylheter Dak, attended the event along with another philanthropist Siraj Uddin.
