Court wants probe report on Salman Shah ‘murder’ by Sept 15

37A Dhaka court ordered Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) to submit a probe report on the death of silver screen actor Shahriar Chowdhury Imon, commonly known as Salman Shah, by September 15.
Metropolitan Magistrate Amit Kumar Dey passed the order on Monday after RAB officials failed to submit the probe report due on 20th July.
A Dhaka court ordered a further investigation on Salman’s death on March 7, after the actor’s mother Nilufar Chowdhury filed a no-confidence petition against the judicial probe conducted by a metropolitan magistrate earlier.
On July 9, 2014 Metropolitan Magistrate Imdadul Haque submitted the probe report which found no indication of murder and said that the actor had committed suicide in his Eskaton residence on September 6, 1996.
Kamaruddin Chowdhury, father of Salman Shah had filed an unnatural death case which he later turned into a murder case.
