Photojourno Idris gets bail in Sylhet

100A Sylhet court on Wednesday issued bail to photojournalist Idris Ali in the sensational blogger Ananta murder case.
Metropolitan Session’s Judge Akbar Hossain Mridha passed the order following a petition filed by the photojournalist’s lawyer.
A team of Criminal Investigation Department on June 7 arrested Idris, a photojournalist of a local newspaper Dainik Sabuj Sylhet hailing from Fatehgarh village under Airport Police Station, from his residence over the murder of blogger Ananta Bijoy Das. Ananta, also an activist of the Sylhet unit of Ganajagaran Mancha, was hacked to death by a group of assailants in broad daylight at Subidbazar Bankalapara in the city on the morning of May 12.
Rateshwar Das, elder brother of Ananta, filed a case on May 13 against four persons with the Airport Police Station. Ananta was also a writer in the ‘Mukto-Mona blog’, founded by blogger Avijit Roy who had been murdered in February after he came home from USA.
