UK Chhatradal demands Dr. Khandakar Musharraf Hussain’s release

33Calling upon the Bangladesh government to restore the atmosphere of political coexistence in the country, UK Jatiyatabadi Chhatradal demanded the quick release of senior opposition leaders, including Dr. Khandakar Musharraf Hussain.

The call was made in a meeting of UK Jatiyatabadi Chhatradal, which was held on the 3rd of November 2015 at a Bethnal Green restaurant in east London. Dr. Abdus Samad attended the discussion programme as the Chief guest to demand the immediate release of the leaders and activists of opposition parties after withdrawing all the false cases filed against them out of political vengeance.

Dr. Abdus Samad alleged that the normal right of the arrested political leaders and activists to get bail is being hampered due to strong opposition by the government. Mentioning that the ruling party are relishing by demobilising the activities of a party like BNP with its repressive acts, Dr. Abdus Samad reminded that no one ever had any good results by blocking a democratic political process.

Special guest at the event Barrister M Nafis Iqbal claimed that many senior leaders of BNP, including acting standing committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain have long been detained in ‘false’ cases without any trial.

The meeting was presided over by the vice-president of London City Jubodol Suhedul Hasan and conducted by the founding joint secretary of UK Jatiyatabadi Chhatradal  Md Musharaf Hussain. Founding Organising Secretary of UK Jatiyatabadi Chhatradal Md. Shah Alam was in charge of supervising the event.
