Victory Day celebrated at London High Commission

44 Victory Day of Bangladesh was marked by raising Bangladesh’s flag by High Commissioner Md Abdul Hannan at London’s Bangladesh High Commission building on 16 Dec, 10.30am London time. Messages were read out from Bangladesh’s President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.

The High Commissioner paid respect to those who responded to Bangabandhu’s call for freedom, national leaders, freedom fighters, injured war veterans, survivors and martyrs. He also remembered those who supported the movement from the UK. Following the assassination of Bangabandhu Bangladesh’s progress was halted but today under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Bangladesh has become a model of success and development. He appealed to all to realise vision 2041.

Guests who addressed the event were former MP & friend of Bangladesh Michael Barnes, Nadeem Qadir, Minster (press), Sultan Shariff, activist in 71, Khaleda Qureshi, Husneara Matin and freedom fighter Koysor Syed amongst others.
