Victory Day reception

A reception on the occasion of Bangladesh’s Victory Day and Christmas was hosted by Nadeem Qadir, Minister (Press), Bangladesh High Commission on the evening of 15 Dec at Kiplings restaurant, North London.

Nadeem Qadir shared his memory of Bangladesh War of Liberation. He said while the Victory Day is a joyous occasion it also brings up memories of pain and loss for many including himself who lost his father in the war.

Guests who graced the occasion were Bangladesh High Commissioner Md Abdul Hannan, Awami League’s President Sultan Shariff, Observer editor Syed Badrul Ahsan, Commonwealth Journalist Association’s Rita Payne, Maria Monteiro of The Diplomatic Press Attachés’ Association of London amongst others.

A cultural function followed the reception.
