Shakib happy with achievements

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan on Monday said the Tigers have a number of

achievements in the ICC World T20 although they failed to win any of the matches in the

Super 10s.

Shakib signed a deal with telecom operator Banglalink on Monday as he became its

brand ambassador. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Shakib said, “We can now

compete with any team in the world. One of us was the highest run scorer in the World

T20 while the best bowling figure was also recorded by one from our team.”

Shakib also thinks Soumya Sarkar’s catch was the best of the tournament.

“These things prove that we have made improvements. There might be a long way to go,

but we are on the right track,” he observed.

Talking about West Indies winning both the men’s and women’s trophies, Shakib said,

“The results only show their rise. No one counted them before the tournament. The way

they have flourished in the last several months is tremendous.”
