Land grabbers given mass beating: 4 nabbed and seven motorcycles seized in Sylhet suburb

njgggFour persons have been arrested and seven motorcycles have been seized when a group of 25/30 land grabbers stormed into Lamargaon village under Kandigaon Union (Sylhet city west suburb) of Sylhet Sadar Upazila on Friday afternoon.

It has been learnt that, Moulana Ibrahim Ali has been residing on his own paternal 47 decimals of land for over 50 years. Recently one Kasir Miah S/O Abdul Ali of Kandirgaon village claimed a portion of land as per law of inheritance. Some days ago Mr. Kasir Mia (52) lodged a complaint to village Panchayet (Arbitrary Committee) who asked plaintiff Kasir and defendant Moulana Ibrahim to submit their documents marking attestation to their ownership within two months. But surprisingly enough, on Friday (Yesterday) the said Kasir and 25/30 terrorists riding on 15/20 motor cycles raided Moulana Ibrahim’s house to have possession on the land. Hearing this, the villagers got united and chased the land grabbers of whom Kasir himself, JCD worker Badsha Miah (27) S/O Abdul Monaf of Kumargaon, Musharrof (20) S/O Imad Uddin of Mahmudabad Colony and another unidentified one were caught red handed. The land grabbers left away 7 motor cycles after being chased by the villagers who informed this of the Jalalabad Thana from where Police personnels rushed to the spot and took the four alleged land-grabbers prisoners and 7 motor cycles took to the Thana. A case has been lodged with Jalalabad Thana in this connection.
