A total of 94,142 candidates including 52,443 female students will appear at the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations under the Sylhet Education Board this year. The SSC examinations are scheduled to begin today.
The board authority has formed vigilance teams under Four districts this year to check unfair means in the examination halls.
It has been observed that almost 100 per cent candidates in the rural centres go to the halls with the hope of passing through unfair means. But due to the strict vigilance, they could hardly get any chance to adopt any unfair means.
Out of the total students; 34,843 students appear in the exam in Sylhet district, 20,736 students in Moulobibazar, 20,133 students in Sunamgonj, 18,390 students in Hobigonj district will sit in the exams.
Sylhet Education Board Deputy Controller Md Moynul Islam said, as many as 84,586 students more will appear in the exams than the previous year under the education board.
