UKBCCI (UK Bangladesh Catalyst of Commerce and Industry) organised its general meeting and election on 24th April in it’s office at East London. The AGM started at 12 which was presided over by President Bajloor Rashid MBE. A number Directors and Members were present at the meeting. The meeting was conducted by Director Rohema Miah.
Bajloor Rashid expressed his gratitude to all Members and Directors for their efforts and activities towards the organisation. He also expressed his satisfaction as the organisation has obtained a very important role in the community in few years’ time since it started its journey. He also mentioned that the main vision of UKBBC was to build a bridge between Bangladeshi and UK Based business entrepreneurs and last two AGMs proved that that the organisation is on its way to achieve its goals.
As the Finance Director was not present at the AGM, the President presented the Annual Profit and Loss statement to the attendees. The Members and Directors expressed their satisfaction on overall performance of the organisation.
Directors and Members who addressed the audience included M A Gani, Oli Khan, Saiful Alam, Kamru Ali, Mitu Chowdhury, M A Matin, I B B Y Ullah, Altafur Rahman Shahin and Kazi Arif.
Iqbal Ahmed OBE remained Honoraray Chairman and M A Gani was given responsibility to conduct the election from the Director Board.
The official who were elected for this term of two years were M A Rouf JP as Senior Vice-president, M A Gani as Senior Vice-president, Najmul Islam Nuru Director of Financial Affairs, Barrister Anwar Miah as Director of Legal Affairs, Rohema Miah as Director of International Trade Affairs and Abdul Q Khalique (Jamal) as the Convenor for London Region.
After the AGM, Director Azad Ali who retired recently, was given a farewell reception from the leaders of UKBCCI.
