Bangladesh president arrives in London for medical

The President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid arrived in London on Saturday 7 July for a brief medical treatment.

Welcoming him at the airport were London High Commissioner Nazmul Quaunine and officials of the Bangladesh High Commission London. Besides, President of the United Kingdom Awami League, Sultan Mahmud Shariff, General Secretary Syed Sajidur Rahman Faruk, as well as the UK Youth League, Women’s League, Youth Woman League, London Youth League leaders were also present at the hotel to greet the President.

This is President’s first foreign visit since taking charge of the second term of office in April. He has come to London for an eight-day private visit for medical and health check-up. 75-year-old Abdul Hamid has been suffering from glaucoma for a long time. During the visit, the President will check at Moorfield Eye Hospital in London and health check-ups at Bupa Cromwell Hospital. The President will return to Bangladesh on July 15.

Vice President of the United Kingdom Awami League Zalal Uddin, Vice President MA Hashim, Vice President Naimuddin Riaz, Organising Secretary Abdul Ahad Chowdhury, Juba League Acting General Secretary Jamal Ahmed Khan, United Kingdom Women Awami League President Khaleda Mostak Qureshi, Vice President Anjuman Ara Anan Anju, United Kingdom general secretary of the Youth League of Women Shazia Sultana Snigdha were also present to receive the President.
