Hobiganj will soon see an agricultural University: Abu Zahir MP

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has given us independence.  There is no establishment in Habiganj that carries the name of Bangabandhu, to pay off the debt of our the Father of our Nation, we have established Sheikh Hasina Medical College in Habiganj, in his daughter’s name.  If your love is with us, we can do a lot for the welfare of Hobiganj.  MP of Hobignaj 3 and President of Hobiganj Awami League, Advocate Abu Zahir told this in a felicitation meeting in London on 30th July in a hotel in East London.

 He also said that Sheikh Hasina has given us a Medical College in Hobiganj and  there are now Honours course running in Hobiganj Government College.  He also mentioned that more than eight colleges and several high schools have been established at his constituency recenltly. None of these were his election commitment, but he has done all theses as son of Hobiganj.

 In his speech, he also said that whenever Awami League Government is in power there are always developments.  The country is now planning to introduce Widow Allowance, which is not even introduced in the UK.  He emphasised that the government is now working on Unemployed Allowance, Pension and other allowances that would bring the country out of poverty.

 Answering to a  question raised by prominent businessman Dewan Abdur Rab, the MP said that as Hobignaj is flourishing as an industrial zone, he will take initiative to establish a Cargo Container Server Station in Shayestaganj.

 The meeting was presided over community leader Nehar Miah Chowdhury and were jointly conducted by Vice-president of UK Jubo League Chowdhury Foyezur Rahman Mostaque, Ajit Lal Das and Shahjahan Kabir.

President of UK Awami League Sultan Mahmud Sharif, Organising Secretary Abdul Ahad Chowdhury, President of Judhdhaporadhi Bichar Moncho UK branch Journalist Matiar Chowdhury and Columinst Abdul Mukit Chowdhury attended the event as guests.

 Other guests who addressed the audience included former Secretary of Greater Sylhet Council Syed Qaium, former student leader Nuruddin Chowdhury Bulbul, Tahir Ali, Journalist Oliur Rahman, Acting Secretary of UK Jubo League Jamal Khan, Businessman Gias Uddin, Goaz Ali Khan, Abul Kalam Azad Choton, Advocate Momin  Ali, Youth Councillor Sumaya Shah and others.

Maruf Chowdhury, Hifzur Rahman Chowdhury, Shah Shohid Ali and Gaziur Rahman of Chunarugaht Association welcomed the guest with flower bouquet.
