Afzal Sayed Munna, a business management lecturer from Essex recently received a certificate of appreciation from Director’s Guild for his community activities. Afzal is a lecturer and education researcher at University of Bath. Afzal is an executive member for Newham, Barking and Dagenham Liberal Democrats and Liberal Democrats Campaign for Race Equality (LDCRE). Afzal recently elected as an Independent School Representative for National Education Union (NEU), Barking and Dagenham District. Director’s Guild is a Television Drama Director’s Organization based in Gulshan, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The secretary Mr S. A. Haque Olik said, ‘’Afzal is a young professional who is very much committed to his own local community and a pride for Bangladeshi community in the UK. We are happy to honour him for his community engagement and social work’’. Expressing his feeling, Afzal mentioned, ‘’I am very much excited and humbled with this honour of appreciation from Director’s Guild’’.
