Dhaka, May 16 : Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud invited Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to attend the 14th summit of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Amir Omar Salem Omar, acting ambassador to Bangladesh of Saudi Arabia, meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Ganobhaban in Dhaka on Thursday (May 16) and handed over an invitation letter of Saudi king to her.
Later, Ihsanul Karim, Press Secretary of the Prime Minister, briefed reporters.
The Press Secretary said the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has agreed to join the conference after accepting the invitation of the Saudi king.
The 14th conference of the OIC will be held in Makkah, Saudi Arabia in the first end of June.
The Saudi king also greeted the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of holy Ramadan.
Expressing satisfaction over the Saudi-Bangladesh bilateral ties and special relations between the two countries, PM Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh has given special importance to relations with Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi ambassador said that Saudi Arabia also gave special importance on relations with Bangladesh.
