Two more persons have been tested positive with coronavirus (Covid-19) in Bangladesh in last 24 hours, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 51, according to the IEDCR.
The death toll from the disease has remained unchanged at five, Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora, director of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) said at an online media briefing on Tuesay.
“Six more people have recovered in the last 24 hours. Of all the people infected with the virus, 25 people have returned home,” Flora said.
Since it was first detected in China’s Wuhan in December, the novel coronavirus has been reported in more than 200 countries and territories outside China.
The virus has infected more than 788,205 people globally with a death toll of 37,883, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.
IEDCR and other agencies have tested 140 samples in the last 24 hours.
