Teenage girl’s hanging body recovered in Sylhet

Police recovered the hanging body of a teenage girl at Goainghat Palli area of the district town on Monday morning. The dead was identified as–Julekha Begum, 17, daughter of Ansar Ali. Quoting locals, Goainghat Thana OC Abdul Hai said the victim’s mother found the body in a hanging condition with a tree in the morning and informed the police.

No ship movement on Shela River after June: Shajahan

The government will stop movements of ships on the Shela River in the Sundarbans by June this year. Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan told journalists replying to a query after laying the foundation stone of Tamabil Customs Station development work here on Friday.
