Ban Ki-moon seeks Hasina’s cooperation

48United Nation is going to set the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) for post-2015 in it’s 70th General Assembly in September this year.

The UN secretary general Ban Ki-moon has sought the cooperation of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in this regard as she was in the meeting that finalized the Millennium Development Goal (MDG).

State minister for foreign affairs M Shahriar Alam informed the matter to the media.

According to the minister, as Bangladesh, under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, has become a role model to other countries in achieving success in most of the sectors in MDG before the deadline, UN wants to be benefited from her. Moreover she is experienced in setting goals.

However, almost all of the state-leaders except the incumbent Bangladesh prime minister, who took part in the MDG meeting in 2000, are not in power now.

The minister M Shahriar Alam further said Bangladesh’s role will be strong in UN as an important partner in the meeting for SDG.
