Khaleda lied during briefing: Hasina

41Sheikh Hasina briefing media at her official residence Ganabhaban Sunday afternoon about the outcomes of her April 21-23 tour in Indonesia.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has blamed her arch-rival Khaleda Zia for lying during her press conference today.
Referring to the BNP chief’s press conference earlier in the day, the ruling Awami League president said: “She not only lied here in the country but also in the international arena.”
Addressing a press conference earlier at 2:00pm, the BNP chairperson said the pro-government people carried out attacks to kill her during campaigning in the city corporation polls, but she was “saved by the grace of Allah”.
Hasina referred to the BNP’s claim of Indian ruling party BJP chief’s phone call to Khaleda, which later the BJP claimed to have not taken place.
The PM highlighted several irregularities that took place during Khaleda Zia’s tenures.
Hasina was briefing the media at her official residence Gono Bhaban about the outcomes of her April 21-23 tour to Indonesia to attend Asian-African Conference Commemoration Indonesia 2015.
The premier said Khaleda will be tried as mastermind for the subversive activities during the recent blockade and hartals that left dozens dead.
She lambasted the BNP chief for seeking votes from bus drivers after burning buses indiscriminately during the anti-government programme. “People will not response to her call.”
Hasina came down heavily on the Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) for its report that stated most of the prime minister’s relief fund meant for Rana Plaza victims has yet to be disbursed.
Saying there was no mention in the cheque if the fund was meant for the Rana Plaza victims, she said, “A portion of the money has been made fixed deposit and the rest of the amount has been kept for using in case of any disaster takes place.”
She claimed every Rana Plaza victim family has been “settled” by the government. “I have every detail about who have been given what amount of money.”
