Body form to probe capsize of fertilizer laden ship in Sundarbans

44Environment and Forest Ministry today formed a seven-member team to probe the fertilizer laden ship capsize in the Bhola river at Sharonkhola range of Sundarbans, on May 3.

The forest conservator of Khulna range and divisional officer of East division of Sundarbans were made convener and member secretary of the probe body respectively, an official release said.

Representatives from Directorate of Environment, Bagerhat district commissioner, Bagerhat police super, coast guard and Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA, were included in the body as member.

The committee has been asked to submit the probe report by five working days, the release also said.

It has been assigned to find out the causes of the incident, ascertain the amount of damages, the people responsible for it and to prepare a future work plan to stop such incidents.
