Community renews their demand for Sylhet-London direct flight

64Aerospace Travels and Al-Amin Travels jointly organised a meeting to give farewell to former Country Manager of Biman Bangladeshi Airlines in UK and Ireland, Atiqur Rahman Chisty and to welcome the new Country Manger Shafiqul Islam. The meeting took place in the The Collective of

Bangladeshi School Governors office in East London on 2nd May. The event was presided over by prominent educationist Md Abdul Hannan. Owner of Al-Amin Travels Md Nazrul Islam conducted the meeting where a huge number of community activists,

businessmen and journalist took part. Shohag Yahia, Saidul Islam and Ashraf Islam welcomed the guests with flower bouquets at the

beginning of the event. The meeting was started with the welcoming speech of Aerospace Travels owner A K M Yahia where

he expressed his sincere gratitude to Aitqur Rahman Chisty for his co-operation through his tenure. He also welcomed the new Country Manager Shafiqul Islam and said that he will receive all types

support and help from the community and travel agents.

Speaker of London Borough of Tower Hamlets Abdul Mukit Chunu was present at the event as Chief Guest. The special guests were former Mayor of Tower Hamlets Golam Mortuza, Mohammod Doros

Ullah, educationist Dr Roab Uddin, former President of UK BATAA Abdul Hannan and former General

Secretary Parvez Qureshi. The speakers also expressed their gratitude to Atiqur Rahman Chisty for his service and co-operation

towards the community. The speakers welcomed the new Country Manager and expressed their

hope that the community will help his support on co-operation on issues that they face.

The speakers urged the Biman authority to lessen the price of tickets for under 16’s. They also

wanted better food and service for Sylhet-Dhaka-London flight as the passengers need to get up

early to get on the flight.

Shaptahik Potrika Editor Emdadul Haque, educationist Jamal Ahmed, Abdul Wadud Mukul, General

Secretary of Communist Party of UK Syed Enamul Islam, Accountant Selim Ahmed, President of

Collective of Bangladeshi Governors Shanoor Khan, journalist Johorul Haque, Shamim Ahmed,

Shamsun Nur Chowdhury, Ahbab Ahmed, Advocate Mujibul Haque Moni, Mrs Ruby Haque and

others.

The departing Country Manager Atiqul Haque Chisty and and recently appointed Country Manager

expressed their heartfelt thanks to A K M Yahia and Md. Nazrul Islam to organise such a community

get together and to felicitate them.
