The victim’s brother Ratneshwar Das filed the case with the Airport Police Station on Tuesday midnight accusing four unidentified people.
But, police could not make any arrest yet in this connection.
Airport thana OC Gousul Hossain said police hunt is on to arrest the killers.
Meanwhile, a half-day hartal called by Ganajagaran Mancha to protest the killing has got underway in the city.
Ananta Bijoy Das, also a banker, was hacked to death in the city’s Subidbazar area on Tuesday morning, two months of the murder of writer-blogger Avijit Roy in Dhaka.
The 31-year-old used to blog on ‘Mukto-mona’ (free-thinker), a website propagating rationalism and opposing fundamentalism started by Roy, who was killed in February at the Dhaka University.
The former student of Sylhet’s Shahjalal University of Science and Technology edited a science magazine ‘Jukti’ (logic) and authored several books.
A Twitter profile claiming to be of extremist group ‘Ansar Bangla 8’ said the al-Qaeda in Indian Sub-continent (AQIS) claimed responsibility for the killing.
Earlier this month, AQIS claimed responsibility for the killing of secular bloggers, including Avijit Roy, in Bangladesh, whom it called ‘blasphemers’.
