Sylhet chamber leaders meet BB governor

55Leaders of the Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) had a meeting with Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr. Atiur Rahman on Friday.
At the view exchange meeting, the SCCI leaders urged the BB governor for taking effective measures to reduce interest rates on lending further for facilitating the country’s overall business activities.
The central bank chief arrived in the country’s northeastern city on Friday afternoon to attain a seminar on ‘Credit Access for Women Entrepreneurs –Challenges and Way Forward’ as chief guest. The seminar will be held on Saturday morning at a local hotel.
INSPIRED Project-Component 3 organised the seminar aiming to facilitate women entrepreneurs particularly small and medium ones.
Ambassador and Head of delegation of the EU in Bangladesh Pierre Mayaudon, Deputy Governor of the BB Abul Quasem, SCCI President Salah Uddin Ali Ahmed and Team Leader of the Bangladesh INSPIRED Ali Sabet took part at the seminar as special guests.    
BB Governor Dr. Rahman earlier asked the commercial banks to sanction loans up to BDT 2.50 million to women entrepreneurs without any security deposit.
