Inaugurating a two-day Divisional Science and Technology Fair in Sylhet

17Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith said information technology has been brought at the doorsteps of the people and the country is moving ahead in all fields overcoming the difficulties.
“We are adopting new technologies as development is impossible without science and technology,” he said while inaugurating a two-day Divisional Science and Technology Fair at the Mohammad Ali Gymnasium.
The minister said the country has witnessed the progress of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in 10-15 years and it has been possible under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
But, study of science has been decreased than before which is alarming for the country, noticed Muhith.
He said such kind of science fair would encourage the young generation towards science study.
Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury, MP, Amatul Kibria Keya Chowdhury and UN Permanent Representative Dr A K Abdul Momen spoke on the occasion as special guests with Divisional Commissioner Jamal Uddin Ahmed in the chair.
A total of 40 schools and colleges are taking part at the fair.
