Shamsul Islam Selim has been elected as the first Bangladeshi councillor from Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. His home district is Sunamganj in Sylhet.
Cllr Selim was elected from Castle Without ward from Conservative Party. Even though he was elected from Windsor, he does not live there but runs his business here.
Shamsul Islam Selim is also the first Asian to be elected from the royal borough.
He came to England with his parent when he was 17. After finishing his studies, Cllr Selim started his catering busimess.
