Bangladesh PM Hasina holds one-on-one talks with Indian leader Modi

50Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has held a one-on-one meeting with Indian leader Narendra Modi at her office.

The meeting began soon after the exchange of LBA documents on Saturday.

A delegation-level talks started after the more-than-40-minute tête-à-tête between Hasina and Modi.

Officials earlier told bdnews24.com that contentious issues like security, border management and water sharing would feature high on the agenda of the meeting between the heads of the government.

“These might be reflected in a joint statement” that the two leaders will issue later on Saturday,” they said.

Modi arrived in Dhaka on Saturday morning on a 35-hour state visit, his first after assuming office in May last year.

He resolved the 41-year old LBA issue for swap of enclaves, but the Teesta water-sharing deal remains to be sealed.
