One held with arms

A ‘listed criminal’ was arrested during a gunfight that took place between the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-9 and cohorts of the criminal at Kusiura bridge area under Duyara upazila in Sunamganj on Wednesday Night.

The arrested was identified as Muhammed ali.

RAB members also seized foreign-made pistol and 1 rounds of bullet from his possession.

RAB-9 official Moinuddin confirmed the matter.

He said that acting on a tip-off a team of RAB conducted a drive in the area around 9:30pm to arrest the accused person.

Sensing their presence, Muhammed ali and his associates opened fire on the RAB team, prompting them to retaliate that triggered a gunfight, he added.

Necessary steps would be taken against him after primary interrogation, he said.
