SCC Drive begins to remove illegal structures from Jallarpar

36Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) on Tuesday began a drive to remove illegal structures built on Jallarpar Chhara, a water stream flowing across the city.
During the drive, led by chief executive officer of the city corporation Enamul Habib, a portion of a shop was demolished to free the water stream.
Enamul Habib said the SCC has undertaken a plan to evict all illegal structures from the banks of Jallarpar Chhara and the Surma River through Taltala to free the city from water-logging during monsoon.
SCC acting chief engineer Noor Azizur Rahman, executive engineer Ali Akbar, magistrate Ziaul Islam and councilor Kohinoor Yasmin Jharna were also present during the drive.
