Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan has paired up with actress Joya for a special Eid programme of Maasranga Television titled ‘Chemistry’.
The duo stood before camera for the show written by Rumman Rashid Khan and produced by Saiful Islam at the studio of the channel in the city on Monday night.
Shakib Khan is a Bangladeshi film actor. Shakib made his debut in ‘Annotho Bhalobasha’, directed by Shohanor Rahman Shohan in 1999. Though it did not grant him wide fame, after a few years, Khan established himself as one of the most successful and highest paid actors in the Bangladeshi film history.
Throughout his career, Khan has received various awards and acclamations, including two National Film Awards for Best Actor ‘Bhalobaslei Ghor Bandha Jay Na’ and ‘Khodar Pore Ma’ and seven Meril Prothom Alo Awards.
Shakib Khan was born in Narayanganj. His father Abdur Rab was a govt officer and his mother Nurjahan is a housewife.
His father’s job required the family to frequently relocate from city to city during his school days. He was a brilliant student and had very good results in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) exams.
Besides education, he also had a keen interest in dancing. He completed a dancing course under film choreographer Aziz Reza.
Shakib Khan has been the president of the Film Artist Association Since 2011. He has also done some philanthropic work, such as supporting the Rana Plaza cause.
He launched his own production house SK Films on 10 February 2014. Apart from his film career, Khan owns a restaurant chain in Dhaka named Red Chicken. Joya Ahsan is a Bangladeshi actress and model. She received the National Film Award of Bangladesh twice for her roles in the movies ‘Guerrilla’ and ‘Chorabali’.
Along with her study Ahsan took a diploma course in Rabindra Sangeet and training in classical music. She first appeared on television when she performed in teledrama ‘Panchami’.
She modeled for a calendar which caught the eye of Afzal Hossain, who later offered her work on a promotional advertisement of a soft drink.
Afterwards she left modeling and continued with her studies. She joined a newspaper company, Bhorer Kagoj, a renowned national daily of that time rekindling her interest in working in the media.After a brief stint at a children’s school she returned to modeling. Then she worked in Giashuddin Selim’s ‘Shongshoy’.
Initially, Ahsan’s father was strictly against her participation show business. However, he changed his views later.
Besides media, Joya is good at crafting and painting, which she demonstrated in art house productions like ‘Anechy Shurjer Hashi’.
Maasranga Television will air the special programme on the second day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
