Court orders transferring Rajon killing case to DB

8A court here granted seven-day remand for Choukidar Maina, an accused in the case of killing child Samiul Alam Rajon at Kumargaon in sadar upazila.
The court of Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate-1 Sahedul Karim also ordered transferring the case to the detective branch (DB) of police.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Commissioner M Quamrul Ahsan said as per the court order, the case would be transferred to DB soon after completing relevant formalities.
Choukidar Maina, number 4 accused in the Rajon killing case, was produced before the court this noon as he was arrested  with the help of local people.
Police prayed for 10-day remand, but the court granted seven days after the hearing.
Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Sheikhpara village of sadar upazila handed to police Dulal Ahmed, 28, another accused in the case. A tea seller by profession, Dulal is son of late Alauddin of Sheikhpara.
The SMP commissioner confirmed the arrest of Dulal and said he was identified from the video footage on Rajon’s killing.
