Tree fair begins in Sylhet

The fifteen-day ‘Tree Plantation Movement and Tree Fair -2015’ has started at city’s on monday. Sylhet district administration, and Agriculture Extension Department jointly arranged the fair.
Divisional Commissioner jamal Uddin Ahmed formally inaugurated the fair as the chief guest. The inaugural function was presided over by conservator of forest Sylhet  circle and addressed among others by Deputy Commissioner Joinal Abedin, Deputy Director of Environment Department Sylhet  and AED Deputy Director.
A total of 40 stalls have been set up in the fair and it will remain open from 6am to 10pm. The stalls will display saplings of various flower, medicinal, timber and fruit bearing trees. Seminars and cultural functions will also be held during the fair, sources said.
