Train communication of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet has remained snapped since Saturday morning following derailment of a freight train in Banasua in Sadar upazila of Comilla district.
Assistant engineer of Comilla railway station Islam Ahmed said wheels of four bogies of a Dinajpur-bound freight train from Chittagong veered off the track around 10:30 am, halting train movement on the Chittagong-Dhaka and Chittagong-Sylhet routes.
A relief train from Laksham is preparing to go the spot to salvage the derailed bogies.
