Parliament reconvenes on Sept 1

The seventh session of the 10th Parliament will start on Sept 1.

President Md Abdul Hamid called the session on Sunday.

The session will start at 5pm, according to a Parliament Secretariat press release.

The sixth session of Parliament ended on July 8. It saw the passage of the budget for the 2015-16 fiscal.

A Parliament session has to start within 60 days of the last session in line with the Constitution.

A Parliament Secretariat official told bdnews24.com the session could be a short one, as it would be held only to follow the rules.

The Business Advisory Committee will fix the span of the session before it starts.
