Rajon murder: Arrest warrant against 3 absconding accused

49A Sylhet court has issued arrest warrant against three absconding accused in the murder of teenager Rajon.
Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate 1 Shahedul Karim issued the warrant after accepting the charge sheet in the murder case on Monday morning.

Sylhet Public Prosecutor Advocate Misbah Uddin Shiraj said: “Kamrul Islam, his associate Shamim Alam and Pavel Islam were mentioned as absconding in the case. Of them, Kamrul was detained in Saudi Arabia.”
Police submitted the charge sheet against 13 people including Kamrul Islam, Muhit Alam, 32, his brother Shamim Alam, 20, Pavel Islam, 18, and Haider alias Ali, 34.
Eight of them have given confessional statement under section 164 of the penal code before the court.
Metropolitan Detective Branch of police Inspector, also the Investigation Officer of the case, Suranjir Alukdar submitted the charge sheet, making Kamrul the prime accused in the case.
Rajon, the ill-fated teenager, was tortured to death by a group of persons at Kumargaon on the outskirts of Sylhet city around 7:30am on July 8.
The accused filmed the torture of the boy.
A 28-minute video, recorded on a mobile phone camera, shows the victim tied to a pole in front of a workshop in the still-closed Sultan Ali Market, beside the Dhaka-Sunamganj road.
From the video, it seemed there were five to six men who took part in the barbaric torture
