Yasmin Mustari renders songs for Nazrul

54The 38th death anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam is on August 29. To mark the day, noted Nazrul singer Yasmin Mustari rendered Nazrul songs in 115-minute at a time in a live programme titled Walton Amader Ponnyo Ghorey Ghorey Gaan-er Utsab on Channel i on Sunday. The programme was produced by Anonna Ruma. While talking about the programme Yasmin Mustari said, “Few days later Nazrul’s death anniversary is to be marked. To pay tribute to him, I have rendered his songs in this live programme.” Though Yasmin Mustari is familiar as a Nazrul singer but modern and folk songs get also rhythm in her voice. Few years ago, her first modern songs based album Sedin-er Ek Bikeley, directed by Ibrar Tipu, became popular among the listeners. Now she is coming with a new album based on modern songs. Shantonu gave its music direction. Besides it, Yasmin Mustari is also taking preparation to release anoted album which will based on Nazrul song.It may be mentioned that Yasmin Mustari’s debut solo Nazrul songs based album was Ami Chand Nohi. Her last released album was Ranga Otithi. But she is absent in playback songs. While talking in this regard she said, “I have intention to render playback songs. But we should change our traditional mindset in film songs.”
