Pay wages and bonuses of Garments worker before Eid-ul-Azha: Asaduzzaman

41Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said garments workers will be paid wages and bonus before the Eid-Ul-Azha, reports UNB.

“The garment factory owners have informed me that they will pay wages and bonus to workers before the upcoming Eid”, said the minister while taking to reporters after a meeting on payment of wages and bonus to garments workers and law and order situation control during Eid.

The minister also said garment workers will go on Eid holidays in phases from September 21 to September 24 for reducing pressure of vehicles on highways.

He also ordered the law enforcers to take measures so that people can celebrate Eid without any hassle.

The minister also said the industrial area in Ashulia will be brought under close circuit camera very soon to avoid any occurrence in the area and for the security of garments workers.

Responding to a question over protests against imposition of VAT on private universities in different parts of the country, Asaduzzaman Khan said the law enforcers are trying to bring the situation under control with patience.

“Additional law enforcers have been deployed in all different spots to prevent any kind of destructive activities by the agitated students”, said the minister.

Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal presided over the meeting and senior secretary Mojammel Haque Khan, high officials from BGMEA, BKMEA, Police, Rab, NSI and fire service were also present at the meeting.
