Train communications of Dhaka with Chittagong and Sylhet has been restored after seven and half an hours of suspension following the derailment of a freight train at Jatrapur in Ashuganj upazila on Sunday.
Officer-in-charge of Akhaura government railway police said that wheels of two bogies and the engine of a Chittagong-bound freight train from Dhaka veered off the tracks around 10:30 am, halting train movement on the Dhaka- Chittagong and Dhaka-Sylhet routes, UNB reports.
However, the train movement was restored around 6:00pm when a relief train from Akhaura removed the bogies and the engine from the tracks.
