25 taxpayers to get reception in Sylhet

61A total of 25 income taxpayers are going to get honour in Sylhet Division comprising city and Four districts for the fiscal 2014-15.
The Department of Income Tax will give the honour marking the National Income Tax Day scheduled to be celebrated on Monday.
According to the sources concerned, National Board of Revenue (NBR) has already published a gazette mentioning their names. In two categories of taxpayers like highest and long-term, they will be given the honour.
Mahmudur Rahman, Commissioner of Sylhet Tax Zone, told that an elaborate programmes has been chalked out to celebrate the day.
A colourful rally will be brought out from the premises of Tax Building and that will be ended into the Sylhet auditorium after parading some of the city streets with some elephants and band party.
On the other hand, a week-long Income Tax Fair-2015 will begin for the fifth time in the divisional city on Wednesday next aimed at inspiring the taxpayers in paying income tax.
Mahmudur Rahman said the fair will be organised at Mohammed Ali Gymnasium. Massive preparation has been adopted to make the fair a total success.
He said the fair would remain open from 10 am to 5 pm every day from September 16 to 22. New taxpayers will able to collect their tax identification numbers (TINs) while the existing TIN holders will be able to submit their income tax returns at the fair.
Income Tax officials would be there to provide advice and suggestion regarding income tax, TIN certificates and assist in filling in Income Tax Return forms.
Besides, Janata, Sonali banks will set up their booths to help pay income tax.
“We are very much hopeful about more tax collection in the forthcoming current fiscal as very much effective measures were adopted,” he added
