Five houses gutted by fire in Sylhet

Five houses were gutted as a fire broke out at Lalmatia area of South Surma Upazila of Sylhet district on Monday morning.
Witnesses said the fire originated from a house aroud 3.00pm and soon engulfed the adjoined houses. On information, a fire fighting unit rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control with the help of local people after one hour’s frantic effort. The origin of the fire could not be ascertained immediately. The extent of loses caused by the fire has been estimated at Tk 10 lack.
