Tk 21 lakh looted from Jessore Agrani bank branch

Robbers looted TK 21 lakh from Rajarhat branch of Agrani Bank in Sadar upazila of Jessore district on early Friday.

The heist came to light when local people found the grill of a window of the state-owned bank broken in the morning.

Shikdar Akkas Ali, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said the burglars looted TK 21 lakh breaking the bank vault sometime at night after tying up its two night guards and escaped safely.

Being informed by local people, police rescued the night guards.

Confirming the matter, Shafin Mahmud, assistant superintendent of police, said police are investigating the incident.
