Youth jailed for sexual harassment in Sylhet

A mobile court on Saturday sentenced a young man to one month’s jail for teasing a schoolgirl sexually at Maddhya Tahirpur village in Tahirpur upazila.
The convict was identified as Sabuj Miah,30, son of late Ali Newaj, a resident of the village.
Police said Sabuj used to tease the schoolgirl on her way to and from school every day.
The victim’s uncle submitted a written complaint to Tahirpur Police Station on Saturday afternoon.
Following the complaint, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested Sabuj.
Later, the law enforcers produced him before the mobile court, led by executive magistrate Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, which sentenced him to one month’s imprisonment.
