Three Shibir leaders arrested in Sylhet

District DB police in a drive arrested three Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) leaders with some organizational books and leaflets while they were holding a clandestine meeting at their office in Anantapur area of the town on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB police conducted the drive and arrested them with books and leaflets from Anantapur office of ICS.
The arrested leaders were identified as district finance secretary of ICS, Ashraful Islam, finance secretary of Madavpur upazila unit of Shibir, Ziaur Rahman and president of Government Brindabon College unit of the Shibir, Mujahidul Islam.
Police in a special drive also arrested 27 persons on various charges from different areas of the district yesterday.
