President for UK visa processing for Bangladeshis in Dhaka

31President Abdul Hamid on Tuesday urged the All-Party Parliamentary Group to take steps so that British visa could be processed from Bangladesh as a large number of Bangladeshis regularly visit the UK regularly, reports UNB.
British visa is now processed from New Delhi which is time-consuming one, the President said when a delegation of Conservatives Friends of Bangladesh (CFOB), led by chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Bangladesh Anne Main, made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban. President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin told UNB after the meeting. He said non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) living in the United Kingdom showed interest to invest in Bangladesh’s various sectors, including IT and pharmaceutical. During the meeting, both the President and the head of the delegation emphasised the need for exchange of business delegations between Bangladesh and the UK for mutual benefits. The delegation observed that Bangladesh is doing well in some sectors but that is not highlighted properly outside Bangladesh. If the achievement is properly projected, Bangladesh will be able to attract more investment, they added. The delegation members apprised the President that they will set up a sports academy in Bangladesh. British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert W Gibson, Secretary (Bilateral) Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh Mizanur Rahman and secretaries concerned to the President Office were present.
