Mahmudur Rahman is Titumir of these days

Speakers attending in a protest meeting held in protest of three years of imprisonment of Mahmudur Rahman, Acting Editor of Doinik Amar Desh, said that Mahmudur Rahman is a national Hero who can only be compared with Titumir. The country needs this type of fearless and courageous persons to uphold the independence and democracy. They also emphasised that Mahmudur Rahman has shown the path to the tortured and tormented people of Bangladesh. The protest meeting was held in London School of Commerce and IT auditorium

They also said that government of Bangladesh is so scared that they had to imprison him. Several journalists, educationist, human rights activist and political leaders took part in the meeting.

M A Malik, President of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) said that Mahmudur Rahman is always considered as the pioneer of free speech in Bangladesh. He also mentioned that by any cost, the nation need to protect the journalist and free him from the prison.

M A Malik also emphasised that Sheikh Hasina must release him before her imminent visit in the UK. He also demanded withdrawal of cases against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and her son Tareque Zia.

Professor Dr K M A Mailik presided over the meeting and Doinik Amar Desh reporter M Mahbubur Rahman conducted it. Guests who addressed the audience included Ferdous Rahman, President of Nationalists Lawyer’s Forum Abul Mansoor Shajahan, General Secretary Barrister Hamidul Haque Afindi Liton, Barrister Alimul Haque Liton, Barrister Ashraful Alam Chowdhury, Advocate Ali Akbar, Advocate Anwar Hossain, former student leader Md Mosharrof Hossain, Mahbub Rahman and others.
