May Day celebrated at Altab Ali Park

 May Day was celebrated on 1 May at Altab Ali Park, Whitechapel by the newly formed Bangladeshi Workers’ Council, UK. The Rally was addressed by Tower Hamlets Deputy Mayor Rachel Saunders, Andrew Murray, Unite the Union), Dr Ahmed Zaman, President, CPB-UK, Unmesh Desai, GLA candidate, Labour Party,  Alex Gordon, Former President, RMT union, David Rosenberg, Mary Davies amongst others.

The rally pledged support in solidarity with workers worldwide. The speakers said, the struggle of workers is a worldwide one and unites the majority of humanity, fight for a better world, and fight for 99% against the 1%.

The rally was followed by music from Udichi Shilpi Goshthi. The event was chaired by Abed Ali Abeed, Convenor and conducted byShahriar Bin Ali, Member Secretary.
