PM says world leaders evaluate her dedication for countrymen

ggThe prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, on Wednesday told parliament that the world leaders have evaluated her dedication, sincerity and works towards the development of Bangladesh.
Replying to a question of ruling party whip Shahiduzzaman Sarker, she dedicated all the honour she had received recently in international level to the people of Bangladesh.
Hasina expressed her gratitude to the people of Bangladesh to give her the chance to serve them.
The prime minister, replying to a supplementary question, said that the world leaders have praised her zero tolerance role in rooting out militancy and terrorism from the country during the G-7 outreach programme in Japan.
She, however, said the discussions held with the world leaders about the militancy were not formal.
She said the militancy and terrorism have spread in the South Asian region like other regions of the world which is posing threat to the peace, prosperity and security of this region.
Hasina said that there is no alternative but to mutual cooperation among the countries of the South Asian region to fight against militancy and terrorism and establish peace in this region.
Replying to another supplementary question, she said her government has been working to make a radical change in the scenario of women empowerment through ensuring employment and education for the women.
The prime minister criticised the micro-credit and said the agencies dealing with micro-credit did not have any role to eradicate poverty and in the sustainable development of the country.
She said the poor people took loans from the micro-credit providers and returned the amount with high interest without making any profits from the loan amount.
Hasina said that her government’s ‘One House, One Farm’ project and Rural Savings Bank have been playing significant role in poverty alleviation and sustainable development through fund mobilisation and family farming.
