SUST employee killed road crash in Sylhet

5A motorcyclist was crushed under the wheels of a speeding truck in front of South Surma Filling Station in South Surma upazila on Tuesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Harun-or-Rashid, 45, son of Khatib Miah, a resident of Adampur village in Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar district. He was an employee of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), reports a news agency.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Jedan Al Musa of Sylhet Metropolitan Police said Harun was going to his Hatimbagh residence riding on a motorcycle.

When he reached South Surma Filling Station, a speeding truck, coming from the opposite direction, knocked him down around 6:00pm, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was whisked off to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead.
