The business conference and gala dinner of Channel S catering and media platform was held on 28h of March at Meridian Grand in North London. The speakers at the gala event emphasized that this catering circle has played an important role in order to raise the awareness among the curry industry owners. The event was organised mainly to focus on Season Two of the talk show of the catering circle. The event also presented some examples of the curry industry is promoting food standard, menu processing, technology and management and how the restaurants are benefitting from it.
Around six hundred restaurants and take-away owners attended the event along with the mainstream curry industry leaders. The event was presented jointly by Shadia Sayed and Chanel S Founder Mahee Ferdous Jalil.
Vice-chairman of Chanel S and founder of Catering Circle Mohammod Abdul Haque delivered the welcoming speech. His speech mainly focused on how restaurents can benefit using modern technology such as EPOS (Electronic Point of Sell), online order, adding dishes according customer demands and etc..
A panel discussion took place after the welcoming speech which mainly focused on the future of curry industries in the UK. Restaurant owners, catering leaders, politician and specialists took part in the panel discussion which was conducted by Chanel S Founder Mahee Ferdous Jalil. Speakers who took part in the panel discussion included Paul Scully MP, MP of Bangladesh parliament Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury, President of Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) Pasha Khondokar and Commercial Councillor for Bangladesh High Commission in the UK Sharifa Khan.
BCA President was asked by the conductor that why his organisation was yet not successful in terms of alleviate the problems that curry industry is facing. The conductor also asked Farida Khanom that whether Bangladesh Government have any plan to help the curry industry here or not. Paul Scully as asked to explain if Brexit will have an impact on curry industry or not. Founder of Curry Award Enam Ali Mbe also took part in the discussion.
Chairman of Chanel S and Chief Advisor of Catering Circle Ahmed Us Samad JP was the last speaker at the event. In his speech he told that around two hundred and Twenty thousand people have sacrificed their lives for the Indian Subcontinent in the war between Britain and other countries. Today’s Britain is the result of their sacrifice. Is not any demand anymore that the curry industry that has established by their offspring should sustain, it is a right.
It was announced at the seminar that Channel S TV (Sky814) will be broadcasting Catering Circle’s series Talk Show Season Two ‘In Focus’ from 25th of April. The recommendations which will be coming out from these shows, will be used to alleviate and ease up the crisis that the curry industry is suffering from.
