Ansar Ahmed Ullah :: Mix interiors, the leading magazine for the UK commercial interiors market in its annual look at the rising stars of the architectural and design community compiled a list of thirty individuals http://www.mixinteriors.com/30-under-30-who-rock/ who are making outstanding contribution in architectural and interior designs.
Of the thirty, one individual is Maliha Haque of Bengali origin from South London. She is listed as Maliha Haque, Architect, LOM architecture and design, an architect and workplace designer who is currently leading projects for several of LOM’s international financial clients. Recent work includes the National Bank of Oman’s HQ in Muscat which opens this year, and HSBC’s new Middle East head office in Dubai. Mal studied at Westminster and UEL, and is now a key member of the LOM workplace team.
The process to identify the list started 12 months ago, on average the Mix team attending a couple of events a week, peppered with lots of other meetings (case studies, profiles, roundtables etc) to be able to collate the list. The magazine also received nominations from respected industry.
The magazine made every effort that everyone was represented. All Mixologists know that Mix Interiors do something that most other major awards fail to do, to attract pretty much the gender balance from the real world i.e. half women and half men. However, for this years list of the thirty, eighty seven % were women! Which seems to reflect the industry at the moment.
